The Institute for Composites Science Innovation (InCSI) has started the collaboration with Prof. Larissa V. Panina who is the full professor at the Department of Electronic Materials at National University of Science & Technology MISiS, Russia since 2015. Prof. Paninas teaching commitments at the NUST MISIS include in the direction of magnetic materials, material physics and, her current research efforts are focused on amorphous magnetic microwires, magnetic microfilms, GMI based microwires.

NUST MISIS today is a dynamic scientific and educational center attracting the best graduates, scientists and research fellows. The University specifically focuses on integrating science, education and innovations, as well as establishing a creative environment for unlocking the potential of every student.

The University has over 30 world-class scientific labs and 3 engineering centers, which employ the most prominent scientists of Russia and of the world. NUST MISIS successfully carries out joint projects with the largest Russian and foreign high-tech universities and companies.

Prof. Larissa V. Panina was previously working in Nagoya University, Japan and Plymouth University, United Kingdom. In 2013 she joined the National University of Science and Technology (MISIS) bringing with her a growing international activity on giant magneto-impedance, magnetic sensors and tunable magnetic wire media.

Her research interests also include magnetization dynamics of micro and nano structures, electrodynamics and optics of artificially structured materials. She has published more than 120 peer-reviewed journal papers, 6 specialized book chapters and has given 18 invited lectures at international conferences.

InCSI has conducted in-depth exchanges and cooperation on the topic of in- situ microwave characterization of magnetic microfilament, amorphous magnetic microwires, multi-functional composites with Prof. Larissa. In future, we are planning to collaborate in the areas of nanocomposites and coatings; magnetic amorphous wire and structural health monitoring applications for amorphous wire matrix composites, the fabrication and structure design of novel materials which can be used for the electromagnetic shielding; the fabrication of microwire-based metacomposites, especially for the microwave absorbing applications.
