Jifeng Xu, Ph.D., Assistant Chief Designer of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) and Deputy Chief Designer for Airframe Design of COMAC; Deputy Chief Designer and Senior Technical Fellow at Beijing Aeronautical Science and Technology Research Institute of COMAC. Currently Dr. Xu is the Director of the CR929 Wide-body Aircraft Wing Development Program of COMAC. His research interests include aircraft design and analysis, advanced composite materials and structures, and he is one of thefounders of the peridynamic modeling for composite structures. He is the Chairman of the Stability Committee of Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI), USA, Vice-Chairman of the Composite Materials Committee of COMAC, and He was the past Chairman of the Advanced Materials and Structures Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He also holds adjunct professorship at Peking University, Tsinghua University and Beihang University. He was awarded Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D degrees from Peking University, Ministry of Aerospace Industry, and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively.
